FANYS – First Aid Nursing Yeomanry

About Project

Through the Military Trisat has had the privilege and pleasure to train the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY) in the modular areas of Informed Situational Awareness, Conflict Management, Breakaway and Basic Self Defence. As the unit is solely voluntary the ladies of the FANY’s are required to undertake continuous training each year to stay up-to-date on their skills.

Conclusion

The ladies all enjoyed the training provided and they all learnt new skills to aid in their delivery of voluntary services. The morning Self Defence was a real hit and it definitely got them prepared for the days training. The situational awareness scenarios were authentic and placed the teams under pressure to make informed decisions. The comments made by the Commanding Officer (CO) at the end were well received by Trisat.

We hope we will be asked in the future to provide further training in support of their operational requirements.
