According to the most recent official statistics on police recorded violent crime, a rise of 21% from 1.1 million violent crimes in 2016 to 1.3 million in 2017. The rise has noticed a slow incline from 2014. Our violent crime awareness course is designed specifically for staff who may be exposed to the risk of violent crime in the workplace. Helping your employees to become more aware of violent crime prevention and response, will enable your organisation to demonstrate you have proactively considered appropriate steps to minimise the risk to staff under the H&SaW Act.
According to Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) a violent crime is a crime in which the offender uses or threatens to use violent force upon the victim. This entails both crimes in which the violent act is the objective, such as murder, as well as crimes in which violence is the means to an end, such as robbery. Violent crimes include crimes committed with weapons. The categories are Murder and Manslaughter, Throwing corrosive substances (acid attacks), Assault, Gun and knife crime or Robbery.
