About this course
CTR Secure Services was one of only 3 training providers in 2003 approved to deliver the SIA Close Protection course qualifications. The Managing Director aided in the formulation of the SIA National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the UK license requirements. Through the SIA Steering committee. CTR Secure Training, simultaneously managed to design and develop the Foundation Degree in Protective Security Management. Through Bucks New University, leading to a Bachelor of Arts (Degree with Honours) in Security Consultancy.

The Aim of the Telecoms SIA Close Protection Course
From the 1st October 2022 the new Close Protection top-up training came into effect. Close protection officers now need to have physical intervention training for linked license intergration. Those required to renew licenses, must complete the top-up training to become current and up-to-date with the new SIA licence-linked qualifications requirements. CTR Secure Training now delivers the new QNUK SIA Close Protection Course. We are adding the focus on working with our clients and providing potential employment to become one of CTR’s SIA Close Protection Licensed Engagement Operative.
CTR Engagement Operatives are SIA licensed to enable a safe working environment for clients to finish their respective tasks. Traditional close protection is based on removing the principle from the situation. We have to provide an advance communicative blanket of protection to facilitate the task completion.
Course Entry Requirements
To participate and complete the SIA Close Protection Course qualification all candidates must:
Be a minimum of 18 years of age
Must be reasonably fit and healthy
Hold a permit to work in the UK
Have a good comprehension of the English language
Hold a suitable Level 3 First Aid Certificate (the certificate must have at least 12 months remaining)
If you invited to interview at the end of the course, you will be advised and helped to become Limited Company Status
Course Accreditation
This QNUK SIA Level 3 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry course. The qualification recognised by the Security Industry Authority and the security department of QNUK (CTR Secure Training-Trisat is an approved centre).
